Welcome to Palazzo Rospo!  That's the name of our homestead, and it's Italian for "Toad Hall."  There are a multitude of frogs and toads here.  They deafen us in the Spring, and our German Shepherd Dog runs jubilantly up and down the wet weather creek gobbling them as fast as he can.  We liked "Toad Hall" because it's from The Wind in the Willows but we wanted something a little more original, and with some pizzazz.  So we named our place Palazzo Rospo.

We moved here in the summer of 2005.  We left a pool-and-tennis community in the suburbs of Atlanta with nearby restaurants, shopping, and fine arts.  We had a home with a man-made waterfall in the back yard, game room, and home theater.  We came to remote central West Virginia, where the nearest grocery store is 20 miles away and the closest Home Depot is an hour and forty-five minutes away.  This photo shows the place when we first moved in.  This website will chronicle our misadventures as we adjust to life in the country.
